not bad, the cost is strange, but what can you expect from esper no? it's a 4/4 flyer, and it counts as an artifact for some of those artifact dependent cards. not recommended for every deck, but this card is a decent investment for any artifact or esper deck

the art is great, and come on four mana for 4/4 flyer are you kidding me. this card rules.

My favourite card from Shards, a 4/4 flyer for four mana, with fantastic art work.
And I got a shiny in a booster the other day.

Nice creature... 4/4 with flying for just CMC 4. The worse thing is that it has threecolored cost that doesnt gives your many arrays to put it into non specialized decks. Even, its one of the best cards for sealed decks.

I don't think people realize how nuts this card actually is.. air elemental is the closest equivalent at 5 mana. Now, granted, air elemental is somewhat obsolete since serra sphinx, and djinn of wishes; but the closest card to this one is the moroii from ravnica that caused you to lose 1 life a turn for having it on the field. A 4/4 with flying for only 4 is way above the power curve. It goes very well with windwright mage (use expedition map or armillary sphere to give it flying), ethersworn adjudicator, or scourglass. Other complimentary cards include edge of divinity (turns it into a 7/7), steel of the godhead (6/6 with unblockability and lifelink), helm of the ghastlord (6/6 and draws a card while making opponent discard a card), or a simple mask of riddles for just regular card draw, clout of the dominus (5/5 with shroud, aka jwar sphinx by using an enchantment) as well as kira, great-glass spinner for a sort of pseudo shroud.

Also, I don't get why any of you are mentioning the color requirement.. yeah of course its in those colors.. that's the esper colors, it's like saying why is a thoctar rgw.

but this is still a solid card

I got two of these bad boys in my Esper deck. Along with Voltaic key, Master Transmuter, Scourglass, the Artifact lands, Karn, Open the Vaults, Sphinx of the steel wind, Etherium Sculptor, Master of Etherium, Leonin abunas, and good old Ornithopter.

Are people serious? Okay, paying 4 for a 4/4 flyer is great, paying three different colors of mana for a vanilla flyer is really weak. It used to be okay draft, now it should see zero play in any deck.

Back in my day we had Rust Elemental and liked it. Alright, no, we didn't like it.

This isn't really ahead of the curve at three colors. Nice, but not HOLY CRAP FANTASTIC.

I noticed the other day that this is what Tek would be with Esper basic lands (but Tek costs ).
So, what would the other shards/wedges get?
4/4 flying (Air Elemental)
4/2 flying + first strike

4/4 trample (Stampeding Rhino?)
2/4 first strike + flying (Peregrine Griffin?)

4/4 first strike (oddly no French vanilla at these stats yet)

...I reckon Tower Gargoyle was the best of the 3-color Teks.
