Never understood the original art, but it's iconic and still one of the best known. Creepy as hell though...
Unlike a lot of cards in early magic, they got this one right the first time.

On a related note; how do I make the autocard refer to a specific version of the card. I.e the Anson Maddocks version of the vampire

This card is the perfect first turn for almost any deck with green. The Anson Maddocks art with a black border is the very embodiment of class. My favourite elf. He was cool back when elves weren't universally reviled and feared, and is still relevant today. 5/5

Not a ton of reasons not to throw these guys into a deck. Helps amp up to get those big Green beasts out. Also that's one punk rock looking Elf dude. Never understood what was going on with him.
