Hard to believe that something so small and fragile can trap Emrakul, the Aeons Torn . There's something oddly satisfying about trapping the king of the Eldrazi (or any of his siblings) in hardened tree sap.

It's a neat concept, but Icy Manipulator is better in almost all situations. Occasionally you may encounter something with an instant-speed ability you need to shut down (so you can't let it untap ever even for a moment), but most of the time the flexibility to change what you're tapping for each turn is much more valuable than paying an outrageous activation cost even once.
