I hate the mimics. Their abilities have a too narrow trigger and the abilities aren't worth it. They should be copies of any red or blue (for this one) creature that come into play. Their mimics that don't mimic anything.

While it doesn't have much place outside a U/R hybrid deck, in straight U/R hybrid it's a solid staple. With the cheap cost of Clout of the Dominus and steady stream of hybrid spells, you're more or less gauranteed at least 5 damage to your opponent every round, for very little cost.

Behold the kill strategy of my Grixis deck. Add Clout of the Dominus and it becomes your opponent's worst nightmare (a 5/5 unblockable creature on turn three).

A little unsure about the whole Clout of the Dominus thing. The wording on this guy very specifically says it becomes 3/3, not gets +1/+2. My thoughts are that w/ Clout you're turning it into a 4/3 shroud haste creature w/ the little inconvenience of the "becomes 3/3" Soooo, you're going to end up w/ a 3/3 unblockable haste shroud mimic that will become 4/3 at the end of the turn. Next turn you cast another U/R spell and its going to be 3/3 again not 5/5. The whole "becomes" thing works both ways kiddies; not just the way you want it too.
The key word on this card is "unblockable." Having a couple 3/3 unblockables every turn is really fun. I got these guys in a deck w/ Crackleburr, gelectrode, and some other nasties as well. BIG FUN!!
Not dismissing Clout because giving something that weak shroud is always a good idea when you've got such great combo potential.

this DOES become a 5/5.
not absolutely sure, but i think i read in the rules that effects like that from clout of the dominus apply "after" the creature becoming anything, because the becoming alters only the values that are displayed at the bottom of the card, the basic values that is, which of course can be modified by other cards.

I'm pretty sure Madtheorist is right. I think I've read that in the rules also.

so heres how this works with clout of the dominus
you cast clout of the dominus. it goes on the stack. Casting triggers the mimics ability, that goes on the stack. The mimics ability resolves first, its becomes a 3/3 unblockable. then clout of the dominus resolves. it enchants the mimic, giving it +2/+2, haste and shroud. Its a 5/5 haste shroud unblockable. now, if i were to cast another U/R spell, it would be a 3/3 haste shroud unblockable.
so YES it does become a 5/5, but ONLY on the turn you play the enchantment. after that, its back to 3/3 land whenever you cast another U/R spell
Okay, according to the rules section in the oracle, even after you put a Clout on it, if you were to play a spell that is both blue and red, the Mimic's BASE power and toughness become 3/3. So, since the Clout does not change the base stats because it gives the creature a static boost, if you were to play, for example, Noggle Bandit, this mimic would become a 5/5 unblockable, haste, shroud.

Drop a Clout of the Dominus this guy, start the four-turn clock; lol as opponents without enchantment/shroud removal totally rage.
If for some reason they're still live by turn six, drop a Rage Reflection; there aren't many things that top a shrouded, hasty, double-striking creature that you can turn into a 5/5 unblockable every turn.
I give this card a 4/5; it synergies wonderfully with the right deck, but it's pretty much a smaller Wee Dragonauts that can't be blocked and doesn't get bonuses from non-static abilities, and is particularly susceptible to spot removal and burn without something like Clout of the Dominus to protect it. Though while probably not the best stand-alone Mimic, it works great with an Izzet deck like mine that's built around aggressive, hard-to-block rushes while constantly playing spells. And with the aforementioned enchantment it's a real force to be reckoned with; I've had people drop two Oblivion Rings on them just to get rid of that kind of power. For anybody whose fond of rolling U/R aggro decks, I could easily recommend getting a playset of these... and of Clouts.

For those of you who question what his power/toughness is with Clout of the Dominus and what happens after that turn and etc. I reference comprehensive rule 613.3 Go look it up if your interested, but to break it down, everything is applied in layers, not everything in timestamps.
So, Riverfall Mimic is usually 2/1. You cast Riverfall and enchant it with the Clout, while Clout is on the stack, it's a 3/3. Then, Clout hits it and it gets +1/+1 and +1/+1 (because it's both colors) therefore becoming a 5/5.
At the end of your turn, he reverts back to a 2/1 that's getting +2/+2 (so it's a 4/3). Now, whenever you cast a spell that's both blue and red, any spell, it becomes a 3/3 and then the +2/+2 is added to that. And, if you cast another spell that's blue and red, it will STILL be a 5/5 because it becoming a 3/3 doesn't add +1/+2, it sets it's power and toughness.
So yeah. Just a tidbit for ya'll to ponder. 2/1, 4/3, and 5/5 are your Riverfall/Clout options. Which, if you don't know, is still retarded good for a 2 mana creature.
Also, another thing to consider, though not as good, Magefire Wings.
