those who look for combos with royal assassin should just look at visara the dreadful and avatar of woe instead.

You can tap multiple creatures on your turn with Cyclopean Snare. It can also trigger things like Azorius Aethermage.
I'd opt for Puppet Strings before either one though!

@Bluemaxx: Royal Assassin = {1}{B}{B}. Those others, CMC = 6+.

Trip Noose has a cheaper CMC than Icy Manipulator, but IM is so much more fun...why not run 'em both in an assassin deck?
