Good for countering persist. Not much good for...everything else? I guess if you have a lot of excess mana each turn...

I just realized that this is the wither version of Rod of Ruin, except it costs more to use and it can't target players.

This card is worthless. So why is the overall player rating 2/5 stars? This card is just as useless as Rod of Ruin, why aren't other people rating it lower? This card deserves a 0/5, not 2/5.

I use about 4 of these in my R/B wither deck. This isn't a useless card in the least. Coupled with the Kulrath Knight and Blowfly Infestation, it can be pretty brutal.

Can counter persist, kill indestructibles and regeneratorse and work as combat trick. Still too expensive overall.

Rod of Ruin laughs at this card. Hell, even Razor Boomerang thinks it's funny.

Awesome art, simple but sound concept. Destroyed by over-cautious costing. Again.

Fevered convulsions might be more effective. Less initial cost. No tapping.

8, tap: put a -1,-1 counter.

If you're proliferating, Serrated Arrows blows this out of the water.

Thank you Unafhaen, this card with that combo is what makes it effective. I will admit it is pricey, but with the Kulrath Knight and Blowfly Infestation, you can definitely lock down the board.

Neat art. Other than that, this card is not much better than firewood.

Would this card work with a creature with undying? Say that creature comes back with a +1 / +1 counter, if you put a -1 / -1 counter on it, would they cancel each other? or would the +1 / +1 counter still be on it?
