The 'fixed' mind twist did go too far, but I think this rating is a little harsh. It's bad but it's not 'do nothing' terrible.

Mind Twist is most definitely better, but this card lets you force your opponent to discard any card, most discard spells target nonland cards or have some other restricting condition (Inquisition of Kozilek for example) Still wayyy too expensive.

The art on this one really captures the insanity I'm sure is involved in getting hit by such a spell. A shame that it's pretty horribly overcosted.

Let's face it.
Mind Twist with for random discard was undercosted. Mind Shatter with for random discard seems to be right.
This is selected discard so, or is undercosted. Do we want people to be able to splash this? If not then is out and this should cost or . So this is not horribly overcosted.

Possibly the worst discard spell of all time, considering with Twist and Shatter you will be emptying their hand fully most of the time. Choosing cards is not worth extra mana. Consider Wit's End, Duress, Thoughtseize, pretty much anything over this POS.
