Grandeur is a ability from time spiral i would like to see come back, way to make multiple legends less sucky. now i can play 4x of legends, that are strong but non win conditions without staring at them in my hand depressed at a wasted card. Tarox ' grandeur isn't the strongest or weakest, probably a good example of a baseline for the ability.

I especially liked the fact that it didn't just give him +4/+3. with some pump spells in hand, you could own the game :D

so if i summon him at 4/3 and drop a copy he is at 8/7. Then i drop another he is a 16/15. And then one more cuz i can. he is a 32/31 flying/haste dragon? id say thats worth useing some black tutoring like demonic and infernal tutor to make happen.
Really liking the look of this card. What about grandeur with non-legendary creatures? The name stops making sense a little but it might be interesting on some sort of squadron hawk creature, or a bear type creature that gets counters with every copy you discard? Maybe a burn spell that lets you pump it by discarding copies?

Great in EDH.

Well, his zombified ancestor is anyway. This guy seems to have some nice potential, being above the curve. his cost of works out for
= Flying = haste = grandeur = 4/3
I think that is a very good deal myself. As the color requirement is intensive, i think it is fair to say the deck is going to be mono-red. Since this guy normally comes out turn 5 you should already have done a considerable amount before this started as you are playing a red deck, leaving you very close to the win. Assuming you have him and a copy in your hand, play the first and discard the second for 8 evasive damage out of nowhere. the next turn you swing for another 4 for the win. very nice.

This is sort of fun and unlikely combo, but how about: This card, Pack Hunt, discard all 3 (32/31 creature at this point), Nostalgic Dreams discarding 3 cards from your hand to get the 3 Bladewings back, then discard those. You now have a 512/511 flying creature, haha.

If/when they reprint Pack Hunt, I'll be making myself one of those fancy "modern" decks everyone's talking about...

I see grandeur being a future mechanic when we return to Kamigawa.
These all work well with many other cards too, unlike Pack hunt, and are in color. Kiln Fiend, War Elemental, and others can really make Fatal Frenzy shine and suicide creatures like Spark Elemental really enjoy the pumps.
A deck like this allows the crazy T4 play of Brute Force + Fatal Frenzy for a 20/5 trampling kiln fiend, or assault strobe + frenzy for a 14/2 trample double-strike; but they still combine with this dragon for an alternative less-combo-y finish.
