Mass of Ghouls, which is a supposedly futureshifted card, gets reprinted in a core set that only reprints cards from the past. LOL TIME PARADOX I DIVIDE BY ZER-FFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU

Too high casting cost. Don't worry about ever using this one.

It's better then Dreg Reaver/Zombie Goliath. Why did this get replaced in the core set by that drek?

Between picture and flavor text, it seems like a very, very scary image.
Where the card lacks in being good, it sure does give an image of pure horror.

Okay, this is a scary flavored card. But I think an army should be more than 5/3.

It does have some awesome flavor, being there would definitely be scary and funny enough, it conveys terror much more effectively than most zombie movies.
(Probably cause we get to see a nice picture, read some stuff, and then imagine it rather than seeing a bunch of silly people in makeup.)
Personally, it would have been cooler to see this be a Sorcery/Instant that summoned tokens or an enchantment that maybe required a sacrifice or simply put out tokens and with each nontoken creature going to the graveyard, add another token.
Maybe just make another creature that is 2/2 for 4-5 mana and make it come in with 2-3 tokens and have more come in with each nontoken creature killed.
I like the card.

I'll play it for flavor alone, but you can bet I'll be using undead warchiefs to drop their mana cost.
a 7/4 for sounds much more appealing.

This card is ridiculously overcosted. 5MC for a 5/3 Vanilla creature?
Too bad too, because great artwork, and flavour. As is, it's not playable in any way shape or form.
What if they had made it a 2/2 that also summoned two 1/1 zombie tokens when it entered the battlefield. I'd use that, and it fits with the overwhelming zombie theme. R&D dropped the ball on this one.

People who play this card in standard are massive fools.

So a mass of ghouls = 5/3 a single ghoul can be 2/2 so each of these ghouls is like a .1/.1??

So the future for this card was... a core set that came out only two months later?
Huh.

You knwo what's galling? Not only did they not print this in Innistrad block, they replaced it with a functionally identical card.
