The foil version of this card has flavor text. The regular version doesn't.

When I made my first control deck ever, I used this guy. He was one of my main blockers and attackers against my buddies red and black decks. And lately with Jund running rampant, he definitely can work pretty well (in casual, that's what my friends and i play).

Really unfortunate that the next set is going to have the strictly better Mirran Crusader.

Oh 10th edition. You were the best core set ever.

... why is a fail like this a rare there was other extremely good white three drops from 10th Edition like Story Circle and Field Marshal.
My first rare out of a 10th Edition starter pack along with Siege-Gang Commander. Still have them but they are in bad condition. 4.5*

Yes, Mirran Crusader has a slight advantage with his Double Strike but this card's protection is slightly more relevant as it prevents him from being instantly Shocked or Lightning Bolted.
Paladin en-Vec and Phyrexian Crusader - two knights, destined to remain in conflict for eternity, neither falling to the other, each the other's equal. Badass.
Firstly, few will argue against CoP effects being incredibly cheesy and capable of sucking both fun and strategy out of the game. Secondly, did you READ the card? I don't see "dodges most forms of removal" printed anywhere on Field Marshal. Mind, I'm not saying either are bad cards, I'm saying neither is the paladin.
Sadly, with multicolor so damned easy nowadays, he's just as vulnerable to efficient white removal, but give the guy credit where it's due. This vet had been fighting the good fight for nearly a decade at this printing and the old guy looks like he can still kick some ass.

I think I'm in love.
