I wish more tournament-worthy cards had the toughness-pumping ability. It's a neat ability, but this card simply didn't make the cut every time.

I'm not sure why you guys are bagging so hard on this card.
The buffability makes him harder to burn, and he's capable of taking on most other one-drops on his own.

He's generally good to buy you a turn or two against enemy creatures, as well as deterring those Lightning Elementals.

Doran EDH could use this guy. I just love how Doran makes seemingly useless cards useful.
