This would be possibly worth cycling if it were discard a land. Saccing one sets you back so horribly.

it would be kinda cool to play if it had a buyback-sacrifice a land, instead of Cycling

It surprises me that this card is rated a full point lower than Rampant Growth. These effects are good on turn 2 or 3. From T4 (i.e. logically 5 or more mana) I wouldn't want to be playing Rampant Growth anyway. Even if you need to tap out, you can still sacrifice a tapped land to pay the cycling cost. Could be another land to replace it, could be something useful. Could be also be something that you're now one mana short for, but that's something you'd build your deck around I guess.

Goes from great to fantastic with any sort of land recursion.

This is a great card; at the start of the game it speeds me up, late game rampant growth would be worthless and I don't need to ramp more anyway. Can't wait for it to be reprinted

One of only two cards that can cycle without mana - the other is Street Wraith. I'm going to throw one Edge of Autumn into a Laboratory Maniac deck and see if instant-speed, nigh-uncounterable card draw can win any games.

Severely underrated.

Let me ask you a question: what's the worst part about playing a ramp deck? The answer: having a field full of land and a hand full of rampant growths or cultivates or something.

That's what this card is for. 4/5.

Also, in the right deck it's crazy. I have a Knight of the Reliquary Noble deck (look up the format on tappedout) that uses this to excellent effect.

Free cycling and a rampant growth => dredge tech. Got this in your starting hand and Dredge 5 or 6 in the grave? KIll Dakmor Salvage and dredge yourself something good. Life from the Loam will help you with lands if need be (in fact, it can accelerate your dredge a bunch if need be.)

Add in Street Wraith, boom, you have 8 free accelerants. Not terrible (and consider that they're both in the appropriate colors.)

When I first started to play Magic, I thought this card was kinda bad. If you draw it after turn 4 (or earlier considering you're a ramp deck) then you have a card that doesn't do anything in your hand. Making it a lot more situational that rampant growth.

Now that I've played a lot longer, I can see the potential in the cycling effect alone. It's not a rampant growth with downside, but an apology for the downside. It's a unique combo piece that can act as a rampant growth should you need it. It's a keeper in my Jarad EDH deck and definitely worth using in my land casual deck.

Plus it's one of the only autumn themed cards and I loved it for that when I first discovered magic.
