This is color-shifted Primal Clay.

Hmm I guess this is probably strictly better in its non time shifted form...

How chould any timeshifted version be strictly better than the original one?
Especially this exception which is the only card of this kind based on an artifact. On one hand, this one requires blue mana while Primal Clay does not. Then again the Clay might be shattered. Of course in a mono-blue deck that might make the Plasma advantageous, but having an artifact instead might be profitable, though. The creature types are also not exactly the same here. therefore we can at most talk about an effectively better creature in the right deck, but not a strictly better one imo.

Idk, I think it's kinda cool that you can choose what to turn it into, but at the same time, none of the things it can change into are so amazing. I'd be more likely to play specific cards than one that can change into random things, especially if they came with other abilities.

The problem is that all 3 versions are overcosted.

Sucks both ways haha at least its not a rare, man primal clay was a such a rip off.

All three are overcosted, but that's the price of flexibility. Sure, it's not a fantastic card, but you can't just look at its cost relative to each individual version and say it's terrible. It's pretty decent, just not exceptional.

3.5/5.

I'd love to see this on soul foundry. You'd never figure out what was going on if you didn't use the right tokens/dice. If you did though the utility could be handy.

Overcost or not, I still enjoy this card for it's versatility.

I probably overuse this card in most decks with blue in it, it usually becomes a flier, or a defender, vary rarely have I used it as a 3/3

One of the things I rate highest in a card is utility, and one extra mana for that much utility is not too much of a sacrifice.

it's also a card I use lots with Wormfang Drake so I can reset it, when Wormfang Drake leaves play I can choose what I want it to be again,

on soul foundry I would assume you would just make three seperate piles of cards and start stacking cards from spare decks in a pile!

I would not pay 4 mana for a 3/3 vanilla, 1/6 defender, or 2/2 flyer. There is no situation in which you would want to waste mana on this. It just sucks. If they were going to reprint a Primal Clay type card, they should have fixed the cost. It's not like it would make it broken - it would make it a cool, usable card.

Everyone, look! The flexibility is worth the extra 1!
a 3/3 for 3 exists.
A 2/2 with flying for 3 exists.
A 1/6 defender for 3 exists (I think...)
If you put this at 3, each and every one of those would be come "Strictly worse" Than this.

I play this in a red/blue Elemental deck that runs Shapesharer. "I choose 10/2 Trample!"

The fact that it is a flexible creature? Or are you talking about entering the battlefield as something else or being every creature type? A shapeshifter is not every creature type, a creature with the ability changeling is every creature type
