Strictly worse than Brainstorm and Storm Crow.

That's not accurate, since those would take up two cards as opposed to being in one card.

I wish this guy would let you pick up a card when he left play to. Then he'd be boss.

Looks like someone left out the echo cost. Good thing for the Oracle!

Ah yes, Raven Familiar. Probably best known for its use in conjuction with Cavern Harpy (or Man-o'-War) in Aluren decks for mana-free card advantage. Drawing cards for 1 life each hadn't been so much fun since Necropotence ;)

That might be a really dumb story, but i once thought you would bounce cards with echo rather than sacrificing them.
You can imagine how much i loved playing this card with that deception :P
(It's just that loveable in an Aluren deck though ;) )

Now if someday there should in fact be a permanent that lets you bounce cards with echo rather than saccing them, i know what card i will put into a deck with that :D
(Seeing how most cards with echo come with a nice cip/etb trigger, this would actually be a card i'd look forward to.
Or as Smojed_Peasant suggested, a card that makes the abilities trigger again when the cards are put into a graveyard would be comparably interesting.)

And that's some cool artwork - i like the academy laboratory atmosphere, and notice how there seems to be an interchange of thoughts between the wizard and the raven.

Oh, and if you're also running white i'd likely play Court Hussar instead ;)

Oh ho! Black wings! Among humans these are considered bad omens, are they not? Then take these omens as fact, and let them herald you to the afterlife! -Naesala

Seriously read it at first as Rook Familiar. Which means the same thing anyways.

@kdraphael (3 years late): the first set with Echo always had it constant - you pay its casting cost again. It says so in the reminder text (pay its casting cost instead of its echo cost). Later sets separated the echo cost from the casting cost, and wrote the echo cost as part of the ability.

@everyone else: if someone is wrong, point out why instead of just voting that comment down :P
