Clearly a card that can be a game-winner in a combo situation. Loss of life is tough, but fuel an x-powered card with this and there is big trouble coming for your opponent.

There's not a lot more to be said for Channel. Historically, this has been paired with Fireball and Disintegrate as an instant win condition if you can get a lead. And with Kird Ape, Giant Growth, and Lightning Bolt in red and green's arsenal, this was generally pretty easy to do. For this reason, Channel spent a lot of time on the restricted list, significantly reducing the probability of pulling off such a win.
