A sad, sad, card. The least they could've done was give it swampwalk, so that it could be unblockable when it can attacks.

I scribbled "Lightning Greaves" on it and it made a pretty good proxy for my EDH deck.

Sigh... another Sea Serpent. Admittedly, I think it fits black better.

I just see it as a mediocre wall. But two downsides, with no upside, makes it kinda sad. Black doesn't need this. Come see me when its 3B though.

Hey Wizards, you know what everyone just absolutely loves, sea serpents, why don't you just go ahead and make about 3 variants in every set from now on, until forever. Thanks.

It's a timeshifted card, people. Complain not about the card itself, but that Wizards for whatever reason decided to timeshift a card that no one really likes in the first place.

Though, from my point of view, sea serpents are one of the staples of what Magic has come to be, bad as they are. So, flavor wise, I think this fits well.

Still a bad card mechanic wise, though.

At least the flavor text is fun.

Swamphome, I wonder if this is the first card to have this ability. Make a Plainshome for giggles. Ignore the haters.

I can't help but feel that even slapping "Swampwalk" on this guy would've helped immensely.
Same for it's non-time-shifted version, of course instead "Islandwalk".
I don't know, there's not much to save, but I feel that it would've done SOMETHING.

There is a creature with foresthome, Gorilla Pack. I wouldn't hold my breath for a plainshome or mountainhome creature.

Wow they planeshifted Islandhome. They should finish the Cycle.

Only good for the flavor text.

@ TestSubject_217601: Swamphome looks like it should be pronounced Swamfome.

...Why?
I mean, I know why the Planeshifted cards exist. I in fact quite like a few. But...
Why Wizards? Why would anyone want a BLACK SEA SERPENT?

Umm...for some variation in a Quest for Ula's Temple deck? I think our buddy Wrexial fills that spot a little better though.

I get that landshaping is a black ability, but I feel like this is a flavor miss. The Sea Serpent made sense: No water, no fish. This guy? Not really...

This is the timeshifted version of Sea Serpent.

Proof that serpents suck in any color.
