This is a decent 4-drop...however like most Alpha creatures the power level for creatures recently has obsoleted this card...

I wouldn't say it's totally obsoleted, today we have Snapping Drake, at common but with toughness 2. This would still be a solid high pick in limited if it was in M2010. Imagining M2010 with Shock instead of Lightning Bolt would send it over the top (O.K., perhaps I'm exaggerating a bit here).
