What might have been if Black Lotus was instead an expensive green recurring creature.

Not bad. 3 mana at the right time can decide the game, and on a 2/2 recurable creature, she's worth the 4 mana cost.
And her ability is closer to a green Dark Ritual.

There's probably a way to get an infinite combo off this if you had some recurring spell and something that reduced her casting cost.

not the best out of the eidolons but her picture is very good, she looks awsome.

You can sac this to get the mana, wait for it to resolve, use the mana to cast your huge 7-8 creature like Godsire which will then return this card right?

@EpicBroccoli: First, cool name. Second, yes, the eidolon will be in the graveyard by the time the ability resolves and you get the mana, so using said mana to cast Godsire will get the eidolon back.

The best of a poor cycle. Probably the only playable Eidolon.

Verdant Succession has some use.

In a vacuum, she has the best ability out of all of the Eidolons. Really, though... it's by its very nature wasted on a 4-mana 2/2. That two free mana is not as key come turn five.

Verdant Eidolon + Reveillark + Kharmic Guide + free sac outlet = infinite mana

With no other ramp, you get a T5 7-CMC dude, not bad. Given that green has the easiest time manipulating mana color and that Naya and Jund are things, this could be ok. Use it to get out your Broodmate Dragon or some such, then get it right back in your hand.

Another tragic example of a card with potential being ruined by costing just 1 mana too many.
