Need sumthing to surprise those pesky creatures? Cradle to Grave will give you that... Activation cost is cheap though u need proper timing... those creatures will be buried even before they could act... Sumthing to answer those haste creatures...

Strictly worse than Terror or Doom Blade.
@Silver: Pffft, unless your playing casually all the time and all your friends use esper decks, I highly doubt you're hindered by Terror's artifact restriction more often than the came into play this turn restriction from this. It's like a crap version of a counterspell, because you have to keep your mana open if you want to destroy a creature an opponent plays, and then you have to worry about stuff like protection from black, indestructibility, shroud, etc. In conclusion the only way Terror is ever worse than this mockery of a card is when every single creature in your opponents deck is an artifact creature, and even then it's not much better.
Terror and Doom Blade are both powerful, cheap creature destruction spells, this on the other hand is a very restrictive, retarded version of a counterspell.

Would've been good if it cost one black.

It is actully somewhat worse than terror in most situations.
@ Bigrig69
It actully can not kill black creatures. But you are right about it killing artifact creatures.
@ BrutalJim
Did I sound like I was saying this card is better than terror? In fact I thought what I was saying was quite to the contrary. Personaly I like the flavor of this card, but honestly it should only cost or not have the non-black creature restriction, or both. Though I suppouse not every card can be a winner..
Personaly I feel that you can't call terror stictly better than this since you have the artifact restriction with terror. Though I would agree that Doom blade is strictly better.
Am I the only one who feels that the "came in to play this turn" clause was supposed to replace the "nonblack" clause - and then they just forgot?

@Ceremonial: I agree. This would have been the perfect chance to drop the nonartifact and nonblack clauses and test it out. Even then this card would still have sucked, as was mentioned with shroud, indestructibility, and protection, but it would suck a little less at least.

For those complaining very loudly about this being strictly worse than Doom Blade, I would like to point out that this was released long before Doom Blade. Granted, it's still a mediocre kill spell at best, but it wasn't strictly worse than any card when it came out. Usually a worse card? Undoubtedly. But until Doom Blade came out in M10, it wasn't STRICTLY worse than the standard kill.

I find it funny that people wouldn't compare it to Doom Blade so much if it said "Counter target nonblack creature spell." (It would be better but not by a lot.)

Could have been interesting if it was something like "When target creature spell puts a permanent into play, that permanent's controller sacrifices it". Like an almost-counterspell.

If it were 1-mana, it'd be really good for MBC i think. At two mana, forget it.

So unusual that they would print such a weak card when much better cards already existed. Doom Bladeand Premature Burial are strictly better by a lot. The latter was even printed in the same block.
