Even against a weaker creature, you still heal for the full amount of swamps. A nice, versatile card. As long as the target creature is vulnerable, it should be dead if you are more than a few turns in, and you get a healthy heal.

Simply put, this card accomplishes everything a mono-black deck could ever want from a removal spell. It provides a truly incredible gain in tempo. 5/5

I used to shock my own creatures just to prevent them from gaining life, I also shocked their creatures when they would try to sac the only creature on the board to gain life.

Now that it is in standard again, I might have to take up the old habit.

Even if you play it the first turn you can for 4 Damage/Life, it's still more useful and more efficient than Lava Axe.

Not 5/5 because it needs to be played in mono black in order to reap the rewards of this card.

I'll always remember this card because my friend's MBC deck that used to dominate our metagame when we all first started playing MTG.

I like the Time Spiral art over the other ones.
