Ironic, because a creature with Banding and a 2/2 creature with trample are, by themselves, quite pointless.

Actually, Weretarrasque, there is synergy between these abilities. If you have this guy band with another creature and attack, you get to choose all damage аssignments. That means that this guy's trample damage can be assigned on top of the other creature he's banding with, and maybe even get through!

Very slow by today's standards. Fifteen years ago, WotC frequently developed and published these 2/2 White creatures with a CMC of 4; Ice Age was full of them. Now, these cards are virtually obsolete.

3.5/5 Because that is a nice illustration of an elephant.

Banding is one of those things that was sadly misunderstood. It made it possible for YOU to assign all damage, making it possible for you to take down bigger creatures on the defensive without loosing anyone.

Dies to two Sanctuary Cats, oddly enough.

The reason for some of Wizards' P/T Color decisions, even if they aren't even sure of the answer themselves anymore, seems basically to be that they wanted every color's Creatures to feel Different.

This sounds like a nice idea, but in practice, there are not 5 different places for Creature Curves to sit. There are 2 or maybe 3. Like, Wizards wanted them to interact like Music scales, almost I think? Faster ones top out with less Beef, Beefy colors start out slower?

R->W->G->B->U

they wanted to have 5 distinct "keys" to play in, but really, nowadays we have more like:

Elves/Goblins->R/W Soldiers->Beasts->B->U

first of all, there's a Fast and a Slow way to play Green, second of all Red and White are basically now almost exactly the same speed. They have very similar creatures, thought their spells are very different.

Probably back then, Wizards struggled with making Green, White, and Red creatures feel different from each other. Today, this elephant would probably just be a 3/3.
