Rather expensive considering Holy Day effectively does the same thing, vis-a-vis alpha swinging the following turn and has more uses besides, even if you don't get to still deal damage as you do with Piety. And for the same CMC you could have Hold the Line...

This card is too expensive for the boost it gives...consider that Righteousness costs only 1, this is far too overcoster, I could see this at 2 or even at 1...

I think the best example of piety is sitting on the toilet and worriedly eyeing the opposite wall while a holy text lies neglected in your lap, too.

HtL is most definitely more powerful, but this is slightly more splashable.

Upon reflection, this card isn't as bad as I first thought. Could be used to absorb what your opponent thought would be a game-breaking assault, giving you a chance to turn the tide.
Piety is a common, whereas Hold the Line was a rare.
