The only real difficulty I have understanding this card is whether it is Blue or Red. As far as I know a cards colour is derived from its Mana Cost, making this card Red, but there would be no point in colouring the card Blue other than to indicate its colour.

Do you have to pay separately for X,Y & Z? Oracle text only lists X in the mana cost. Card itself lists X,Y & Z.

Oracle text tends to have trouble with cards from the Un-sets. It plays exactly how you think it does. This is one of my favorites. I'm surprised that Customer Service OK'd the flavor text.

I think the format of this card is actually less confusing than the format of Comet Storm (WWK Spoiler).

I'd say this card is deliberately misprinted, that is to say the card is Red (in accordance with standard rules as applied to misprinted cards), but the card is colored Blue as part of the joke.

I hope you all realize this is from an Un-set. and even so it's still strait forward and not confusing at all, unlike Curse of the Fire Penguin. Ugh.

izzet, Comet Storm is strictly better than this: it is cheaper by {1} (you have to pay for each target with this one, including the first one) and instant speed to boot

this card is a reference to the summer magic hurricane, a extremely rare hurricane card that is blue lay-out but with normal costs

The card is red. Card color is based on it's CMC not it'd border color. If a Dark Ritual was misprinted with a green border but still had black mana symbols it'd still be a black card.

It's notFireball. Fireball divides X amongst its multiple targets, this will always deal X damage, regardless of if it's hitting one or six targets.

I honestly don't understand why this should be worse than Comet Storm...
The X is the same and the kicker cost is just converted into Y and Z, with the same cost.

The reason this is strictly worse than Comet Storm is that the first target on Comet Storm is free.

This will always cost one more than an equivalent Comet Storm.
