Pretty good, especially considering b/r doesn't have too many options for 2 mana creatures.

The first activated ability is useful especially for hellbent and madness decks. The second activated ability however is completely and utterly terrible.

His second ability is actually very good, providing a nice chump blocker in a pinch or the ability to punch through your opponent's defences to deliver the final blow (especially useful late game with 8+ mana available). I've won way too many games with his second ability to agree that it's "completely and utterly terrible". It's not.

i think this dude should cost 1 more mana(c) to play however, considering the standard cost for a 2/2 zombie is 3(wizards has of course broken away from this standard with warpath ghoul). so being a 2/2 and having some solid abilities would make him about 1bb/rr

The red ability dwarfs the black, unless you're going for Chandra Ablazes' ability with graveyard spells.

His abilities are slightly overcosted, but getting that kind of utility on an already reasonable creature is great. Creatures with reasonably costed abilities aren't 2/2s for 2 hybrid mana, that's for sure.

A bear with abilities that matches the guild. Discard allow you to use madness/threshold/hellbent abilities while killing small creature. Producing goblins allow you to sacrifice it for other purposes and given enough mana late game you can make more.
But without a doubt the cost to activate is too high. Should've shrink the mana cost by 1 on both abilities. As it is right now it's mediocre.

I agree with Sleetfox. Imagine the abilities {1} cheaper on a 1/1 for three mana! Not as good, right? Weenie decks can't just play 2/1s for one mana and hope for the best all the time. Versatility is a very powerful thing. It's a card worth trying out. Even in a monoblack or monored deck, try subbing Black Knights or Mogg Flunkies with one or two of these. A little reach can make your deck beat a wider variety of threats!

My favorite Guildmage. Turns dead draws into removal spells, generates board position, can be used as an infinite mana outlet, and it's an Zombie Shaman (two good tribes) bear! Great art, too.
