I agree with Stygimoloch. For 2G, this might be good. If it were blue and had flying, this might be great. Even with defender.

This should be a Treefolk, not a plant...

Does this remind anyone else of the Singing Bush from the movie "Three Amigos" with Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, and Martin Short?

@jumpingjacked: Of course not. Rapping =/= singing.

Oracle changed it. Notice the card does not mention the effect going away.

Are you the singing bush?

@Trenonian: It was always temproral.
Why? Because after attacking phase is over and you are in your main phase again the creature is no more an attacking creature and the effect wears off.
Annoying critter.

Strange flavor on a reasonably cool card.

Someone's swinging at me for a one-hit KO with Blightsteel Colossus? Well, let me just tap my singing tree.

It doesn't mention the effect ending on the card because in the rules at the time, it was assumed something like this was "until the end of the turn" rather than permanent. It hasn't changed functionally from when it was printed.
Though... it seems really weird to me that you could attack with it. The rules at the time didn't include defender, wall was its own creature type with a specific involved flavor.

I hit someone with this in a game with my Uril EDH deck, it was funny because he died to a 52/55, flying, first strike, hex proof, vigilant, trampling, double striking, lifelink Singing Tree that warmed up its vocal chords for the surviving players general (who died the following turn)
