HOW THE DUCK WORKS THIS SHIT

I always loved using this land in my dredge deck (back before bridge from below). Once you manage to get a large grave troll to stick, this guy just comes out of nowhere. It is also good when you were running out of cards to dredge so bringing back the grave troll might not be possible (but bringing back life from the loam is). It is a surprisingly effective late game beast; excuse me, plant zombie.

Can anyone confirm that activating this land's ability with a Humility on the table makes it a 1/1 regardless of the number of creatures in its owner's graveyard?
(Since the p/t defining through its ability occurs in an earlier layer than Humility's effect?)

@PjotrV You are correct in think that activating this when Humility is in play will make this a 1/1, however, should it receive any +1/+1 counters or anything, it will become a 1/1 and then those counters are taken into effect.

Can the Plant Zombie creature ability be activated every turn? Or is it only able to become a Plant Zombie once in the game?

Thank you.

@nortocs

When you activate the ability, Svogthos becomes a Plant Zombie until end of turn.

At the end of the turn, Svogthos becomes the land which taps for {1} and can become a zombie for {3}{B}{G}.

So yes, you have to activate it the turn you use it.

A card that permanently changes is Stalking Stones.

This guy is one of my all -time favourite EDH generals. I'm assured a land drop and he really beats face for general damage later what with all my dredge cards, creature sacrifice, and equipment. Really, really nifty card. Thanks, Wizards!

@bijart_dauth: i don't know. but wizard surely has a way in answering this question out. like what they did when somebody asked why the rare lands in Zendikar was also not Legendary (Emeria, Valakut etc.)

but one thing i know, Svogthos, the Restless Tomb is the very first multicolored man-land. He is colorless as a land but a Black and Green when activated as a creature.

Shouldn't the Ravican Guild Homes technically be Legendary Lands???

@bluemaxx: Actually, Nantuko Monastery beats this as the first multicolored (green/white) manland by a few years.

Who can say no to a half-Lhurgoyf manland? Bring on the board wipe and the dredge!

Often times a forgotten win condition with Jarad. Make sure to put it under a basic, so your enemies forget about it.
