This has some of the coolest art I've seen.

Is there a reason this thing doesn't have Reach?

This could do some damage in casual if you can generate lots of mana and then channel, then return it to your hand with a card like Natures spiral

Stupidly cool.

Given that this is an animate thundercloud, why this guy doesn't fly or have reach bugs the snot out of me.

@reach complaints: This would be one crowded piece of cardboard with even more abilities.

It doesn't have reach because it pretty much doesn't need it. Just leave it untapped, block a ground creature with it and tap it for its ability to kill an attacking flying creature. Besides, they were trying to make it a pair with Jiwari, the Earth Aflame. They'd have to give Jiwari something to equate reach on a creature of his type.

Doesn't have reach because you'll likely just be tapping it to kill anyways, besides I don't think they could fit it.

Very cool. This is a card I've used and recommend the use of. Many green decks, especially in multiplayer, have big problems with flyers. A live Arashi is screaming "don't you dare!" while one in hand can just hurricane them all away. The versatility makes him more useful, in my opinion, than Hurricane for just getting rid of flyers.

Arashi = 嵐 (storm), but also 荒らし (forum troll)
I guess we found out why it doesn't have reach: it's trolling everyone who thinks it should.
But then if it's a troll, why doesn't it regenerate??

at 'no room for reach or flying' comments: tell that to Emrakul, the Aeons Torn. They could probably have fit flying, haste, double strike, trample, and shroud. you know, if they WANTED TO.

If you're stuck against Iona, Shield of Emeria, you can channel the everloving snot out of her.

That alone makes ol' Arashi a 5/5 in my book.

Arashi and Jiwari are nice with Genesis in EDH!
...So are most creatures, I guess, but hey, recurring Arashi has been an MVP in a lot of my games.

remember, you're getting a 5/5 for five mana, and you get to nuke fiers. casual green decks want this.
