I agree with the artwork, yet with release of M10, this card is overshadowed by a card with a more useful tribal type.
You might of course want to run both in several white weenie decks, though...

This a great classic card. A 2/1 for 1 mana is an awesome deal. Most classic white creature decks ran 4 of these. 4.5/5

It was, until M10 the only 1 manna 2/1. Its a flavoursome creature type, and deserves it's rarity given it has no drawbacks what so ever

I totaly agree that elite vangaurd should have never been printed over this. I think they should have made Elite Vangaurd a 3/1 for 2, or a 1/2 for 1 and reprinted this cat.

i REALLY do not see whats so great about this card. at all. 2/1 for 1? big deal, it seems completely useless if you don't have it in your opening hand. 0.5/5 from me because this is the worst rare I've seen since Goliath Sphinx

Awesome for weenie rushers - being able to drop a no-drawback 2/1 for 1 mana (of a color common for weenie rushers) is pretty spiffy.

Soldier of the Pantheon and even Elite Vanguard are better than this now. However, this is rated higher. Goofy rating system.
