It's pretty good.

In an arcane deck with enough mana, it burns control through the board.

I like playing this with Blessed Breath and Spiritual Visit. Blessed Breath conveniently allows attackers to attack unblocked or can simply keep attackers alive.

The best arcane! Repetable burn is always good, always!

Obsessing over how exactly Arcane spells worked has finally made me realise this car is actually pretty cool! I used to think you cast the main spell and the spliced one... my bad.

I put these in my burn deck with lava spikes too. 5 damage for R2 ain't bad. Also ran 4 browbeats. It was a nice burn deck.

Strictly worse than Planar Cleansing...

I just love how an eagle is shooting ice rays out of it's face on a red card

The fact that this turns every Lava Spike into a Lava Axe at a 2 mana discount makes it impossible for me to rate it below 4 stars.

It's funny how I never really thought of Glacial Ray and Lava Spike's interaction before now, as I've owned and played with both cards ever since the Kamigawa block came out. Desperate Ritual fits in nicely too.

When you splice spell A onto Spell B, the final color is that of B.

i.e., you can kill a prot red creature with Glacial Ray if you splice onto a non-red spell.

I miss having this card.

This is quite possibly the best Splice card going. There's no Arcane spell that wouldn't benefit from a stapled-on Shock.
