Often used in the early days because they were a dime a dozen common, fairly efficient blocker, and flavorful for green. Now there are far too many "strictly better" cards. Still gives me a safe feeling looking at it though. Might still find a place in a deck dedicated to getting boatloads of mana from Overgrown Battlement. VERY dedicated to it...

I would say it is still a solid play in the present, if your game involves throwing big honkers out. This little wall stuffs a weenie in the face and buys you a round or two to get your mana developed.
