Hmm. I suppose it was alright in Mirridon block. Still hardly stellar though.

It's Circle of Protection from Artifacts...yeah...it's no longer worth 2 mana to prevent damage from just one artifact source, and against an artifact deck this thing becomes a big target.

Two to cast, two to use, a bit much for something so simple. You had better have the mana to use it more than once, and protection against more than just artifacts if you want to get the most out of this today.

I never really understood why this cycle as opposed to the color cycles required rather than just to activate, given that even in past artifact cycles (especially Antiquities, where this card got its original print) you faced only a few damage dealing artifacts or artifact creatures in general. Playing this card in Mirrodin block-constructed might be worth considering though since it has a more excessive use of artifacts than previous cycles.

I'd rather run 4 Sphere of Purity rather than running one of these.

make it the only circle you need if you run mycosynth lattice. 3.0 for more combo potential than the other circles.

Just not a great card overall. Besides, it just doesn't feel too White (even though I know all Circles of Protection are white) for this set, which included pro-artifact cards like the Leonin and the Auriok. Additionally, the Bringer of the White Dawn has a pro-artifact ability. Since it was in a cycle, that means the devs felt that being pro-artifact was distinctly White for this set. It would have fit much better with green in the set that has both Tel-Jilad Justice and Viridian Lorebearers.
I don't like the art either, and the flavor text is cheesy.
A card with a colon in its name? You don't see that often.

Something tells me that all of these comments from 2009 are saying this is crap because they have no idea of the horrors of "Card Type- Artifact"
You all do realize this almost races Tinker + Darksteel/Blightsteel Colossus?
I'm not sure how this would fare vs. Arcbound Ravager....but, I'm certain it's at least playable.
Yeah- the implementations for this are narrow. It just stops all artifact creatures ever.
"Only good for Mirrodin Block?" That's like saying that Glittering Wish is 'Mainly good because of Ravnica and Alara Block" Yeah. These statements are true. These blocks have powerful cards in them that you are very likely to meet since they are more recent than, say, Antiquities, Legends, or the Dark.
I'm not saying this will automatically save you from Artifact decks and therefore you should go out and run and get four right away. I'm just saying it's massively underrated because the comments don't make sense given how powerful and worth hateboarding against I know Artifacts to be....

Have this and Dingus Egg out, wait until like 7th turn in a multiplayer game, hopefully after a bit of damage has already been dealt around the board, then drop Armageddon. Fuckyeah.jpg

In its block, when just about everything was either an artifact or used strong artifacts in some way, this was about all you could ask for.
It's not perfect, but in its environment it was pretty good.

Interesting flavor text considering that the second sentence sort of became a motto of the Mirran resistance in Scars.
