This card was made with affinity in mind, reducing the cost of other artifacts by beeing under your control. Even then it was a horrible card. There is no reaso to ever play it.

This card was made because Mirrodin develpment realised every color had a 2/1 for 1 mana. But artifacts didn't. So they created one.

The best wall to combo Glyph of Destruction and Fling with; your opponent is more likely to attack this wall than most any other wall, since he's most likely to have a creature capable of killing it.
Splash white for more better walls, Righteousness and Brion Stoutarm. The only problem is that after a couple times the combo gets real predictable...

It's not too appealing. Best thing I think I can say for it is that it is about as tough as you'd expect a wall made of grass to be (even if it is metal grass).

Actually, this card is really not all that bad. Sure, it's a defender, but it's a 2/1 for {1}, and colorless too. Artifact allows it to help with affinity. It's not Clockwork Beetle or anything, but certainly not the worst card.
