Quite interesting card, can set your opponents into passive mode for just a blue mana. Hey, at worst, it counts for Krovikian Mist.

Definitely a playable card and likely the best one-drop for Illusion tribal decks i could think of. Unless your opponent has any artifacts that cost 0 mana, this will be a cheap body most of the time. One of my favourite Veiled/Opal/Hidden enchantments.

Yet there's one thing i'm not content with:
The Grand Creature Type Update gave him the type Illusion, but this actually looks a lot like a Knight Illusion.

@mode:
I guess since he adapts to the opponent's strength, he can be several different threats. So we see a knight here instead of a child or a Fungusaur.

I think the idea behind the art is that the knight is suppoused to be the image in the tapestry comming to life. That may explain why it's an illusion and not a knight illusion.
Anyways it looks sweet and it's pretty cool. 4/5

Could be fun with Mindslaver.

Might be good for multiplayer, if you can convince another player to help you out. And if they don't want to, you're playing blue, so go ahead and ruin their fun.

This doesn't wake up by successfully casted spell but just casted spell. So countering don't help.

Btw. Why was it oracled from 'successfully casts' to just 'casts'?

Tavaritz - "Successfully cast" meant what we think of as "cast" or "played". It's just a terminology issue, not a functional change. Countering spells NEVER kept this card from triggering.

And never in Magic has there been a card that triggered on resolution of spells. A few replacement effects changing where the spells go (rebound, flashback), but not an actual triggered ability.

Keep in mind that since this is blue, you should be able to counter some spells until your opponent tries to play something with an acceptably high mana cost (but isn't too threatening.)

EDIT: I stand corrected. My apologies. The word "successfully" in the card text misled me, I suppose.

@WhiteWizard42: "never in Magic has there been a card that triggered on resolution of spells."
Enters the Battlefield effects are triggered by the resolution of creature spells, as opposed to simply the casting of creature spells. That may be why language like that on this card is confusing to a lot of people.

This guy might actually be fun in a monoblue illusion tribal deck alongside Lord of the Unreal.

The downside with him on his own is that one Ornithopter later and well...yeah.

I see this working rather nicely in anything that flickers its own creatures (e.g. Commander Roon). Just time flickering this for when a spell with a CMC greater than the Sentry's current power and toughness comes up.

EDIT: Never mind. Turns out I thought it had to wait for the spell to actually resolve/fizzle/get countered. But it's actually the moment it's cast--it isn't something that goes on the stack. So much for that brainstorm...
