So this one time, I had an ape deck, and I was like, "This says 'Ape' on it!" and I put it in.

This card isn't exactly confidence inspiring when the flavor text has it killed easily by what is probably a Yotian Soldier, which by all rights shouldn't be able to kill it.

It's alright for a 3/2. Nothing really spectacular here. But that flavor text, now that right there deserves a 5/5 just for being amazing!

This is meant to provide a little early-to-mid game beef in a deck that includes Green but is not predominantly Green. In such a context, this card can be decent.
Strangely, I find that if I start sliding Green into a deck to provide 'Green support', I tend to convert the deck into a Green deck that is supported by the other color(s). Green's mana ramp is pretty powerful, but it usually calls for {G} production at the earliest opportunity, rather than secondarily.
