This card is cost effective, and it can work towards 100's of combos that can use a more powerful creature such as Vampiric Link or Rite of Consumption.

.. Or, you could just use Wall of Blood.

Glad to see a superior black version of Blessing became a common card nontheless.
Keeping their card disadvantage in mind, only a few Aura cards truly deserve a rare slot.

Nice way to grant Shade ability, but you might try Shade's Form as well. It costs a bit more, but it's more fun.

Compare to Firebreathing.

In red, you'll likely be able to spend about {RRRRR} on an ability like this, earning you +5/+0

With this, just {BBB} gets you an arguably better result of +3/+3, and if your black is running Cabal Coffers, you could very easily pump {BBBBBBBBBB} into it and earn yourself +10/+10, maybe even on a trample, swampwalk, or fear creature.

Auras will always be 2 for 1 magnets, unless its broken like rancor.

Given the huge amount of mana you can produce in black and the fact that this pumps toughness; this is actually extremely powerful.
