I love how Mirrodin was split between broken cards (what were they smoking when they made Affinity in general, Skullclamp, and put Isocron Scepter at uncommon?) and overcosted, inexplicable cards (this one, Spinal Parasite, and Thermal Navigator spring to mind). Then again, I love everything about Mirrodin.

Underrated. We have a 2/2 - that should be right there. Protection from artifacts is worth another , and so is the flash.
