Decent enough card. 5/1 flier for 5 is nothing to laugh at, even if it takes a mana to buff. The fact it has 3 toughness unless buffed means it can survive being blocked and even block annoying little fliers like spirits and birds. Still kinda a bad card...for 5 mana I'd expect this guy to at least be a 4/4 with this effect. VERY good with cards like Manical Rage, which can make him a 9/1!

would be good with brute force, making it a 6/6, then using it's ability twice giving you a 10/2 for 3 mana that turn. Still a poor card, but it's from a hundred years ago, so.. meh

This probably used to be pretty good, now there's Thundermaw Hellkite at the same CMC...
Though granted, this thing can get pumped to have higher power if you can increase its toughness.
