why is this card rated so lowly? it's like a cheaper sangrite backlash

whoever gave it half a star obviously didn't consider playing it on the opponent.

Or you could just run a shock and be better off. The best part of buffing cards is that they make your small, useless creatures, the ones your opponents dont bother to block, into big sources of damage. This would kill many of the creatures I'd consider using in that kind of deck.
