How is this worse then fog it allows you to block and kill anyone you please while remaining unharmed by the big baddies you could'nt block and or kill

Raveknight's right; it may be more expensive, but in terms of raw effect this is superior to Fog since your creatures can still deal damage, so you can set up a situation to kill a specific attacker or two and not have to worry about chump blocking.

Also, "deep wood." Heh.

It's worse than Fog because it's a sorcery you can only play at times you aren't allowed to play sorceries!

I love the old portal 'instants.' Still, the only reason I would play this over Fog is to mess with new players' heads. Fog costs less and can be used on your turn to save your creatures if your opponent pulls out some crazy combat trick. Fog also protects your creatures when provoke creatures force them to block, which this does not.
