Jeez, this is bad. This thing is never going to come down early enough and die quickly enough for the one discard to really matter, and it's a vanilla 1/1. This thing is a disgrace to every other toad and frog.

Actually this card is pretty useful in certain commander decks. In a shirei build with a sack outlet it can rip up your opponents hands rather quickly. While in most decks this card is awful, it can be a player in certain decks and formats.

And soon it will say:

When Noxious Toad dies, each opponent discards a card.

Toads aren't frogs. I hate this mistaxonomy that MtG does.

this got seriously 1up'ed by black cat. though the oracle text atleast makes noxious toad "each opponent" rather than just "target opponent" like the black cat, so we can't say it is strictly better.

Interesting to compare it with Black Cat. The cat isn't strictly better because this one gets each opponent to discard but... It totally is better, because discard really only works on one-vs-one matches anyway. Says a lot about the value of 1 in the mana cost.

"When Obnoxious Toad is put into a graveyard from play, each player breathes a sigh of relief."

Toads are pretty much equivalent to frogs, contrary to what people think. Several families in the order Anura, which includes all modern frogs/toads, have members that are referred to as either.

Oh really? Discard is only good one-on-one?

Mindslicer and Miiojin of Nights Reach would like a word with you.
