awesome, i picked myself up some copies for only $8 each,

Reprinting a card that forced countless people out of the game for the core set...GREAT IDEA:/

hands down the best black card ever printed.

OK, so some suggestions on how to use this card pls?

This card is used to quickly exchange a bunch of life for insane draw, basically setting up an express lane from your library to your hand. Not for zombies, not for the newer collossal cards that shuffle back into your library, not for lots of strategies. This really only works with vampires and that one vampire planeswalker. It kills, but it's weak to hand destruction methods involving specters and Blightning.

Who here remembers "Black Summer"? Haha if so, doesn't getting old suck? Those that don't, here's a hint.. I'm knocking on 30's door, but the very 1st MTG game I ever witnessed (which would end up being the one that forever changed my life) was in July during Black Summer. I had just turned 14 & was in 8th grade summer school study hall watching 2 nerds play this crazy card game (I can say that because I am one :) and so a Red splash green Burn deck was just obliterating the other dudes Mono-Black & then, he pulled the Necropotence, spent like 5 of his last 6 life leaving him with 1 & ended up swinging for 20 damage in 2 rounds for the W. I'm sure it comes as no surprise that my main deck would go on to be a black splash white for nearly an entire decade! Ive owned a lot of bada** cards between then & now but never the dominating necropotence, ironically.. I think I'll get 1 just to say I did. Yep.

venser's journal seems the obvious choice, as long as you can hold out between your end step and your next upkeep you essentially get all these cards for free. If you can get two out though...

they need to reprint these, its not THAT Over powered by today standards, and classics like this need to be in a core set. please reprint this, please.

That skull will haunt your early deck's nightmares for years to come. I only pray blue-black control never gets this card legally. (shudders)

This card's power is obvious, now. Perhaps what is most noteworthy is what Necropotence taught us all about Magic. In many ways, this card sudden dominance in tournaments marked the beginning of a far more modern understanding of how the game works. Gone forever were the days of Lords of the Pit and Forces of Nature smacking each other around - no, the new game was far faster and more complex.

Best enchantment ever. You won't see another card like Necropotence for a very long time, if at all. This card wins games, no joke. When it hits the field, everyone else knows who is going to rule the game. It keeps you from running out of cards for barely a drawback. Seems like a small price to pay when it wins you games by itself if you get it going early.
