A good griffin! Fun with Griffin Guides. Plus, it'll probably nab you something in draft. It is a good birdy.

ALMOST a good griffin... needs more power! would this have been broken at 3/3?

I... thiiiink I'll look elsewhere for my dreams. The problem I have with creatures like these is that there isn't really anything actually 'wrong' with them, there's just this -feeling- that it isn't good enough. You don't know why though, because, as mentioned Auramancer is a well-costed card that does exactly what it ought to. So what's wrong with tacking on 2 mana to give it flying and a huge butt?
Unfortunately for Magic, there are definitely diminishing returns when it comes to costing creatures. What may be incredible at 3 mana becomes trash at 4 mana. And not only that, but there is a huge, huge variance in power simply by raising the cost from 1 mana to 2 mana. A 5/5 for 4 mana is so good it demands a downside, but a 6/6 for five mana is so bad it needs an upside. Interesting, eh?

Cool art, bad card. Still waiting to see a good griffin get printed.

It dreams that it had more power.

This slots nicely right into the commander file. It's redundancy on an effect that is not that common and let's be realistic - 1/4 flyer is way nicer than 2/2 because they are both chumps.

Not the worst card, but I'd still prefer Auramancer over this.
I like the idea of enchantments as dreams. As for playing it I have to agree with Eternal_blue - there's nothing wrong with it, but much like auramancer I never will. :P

Lets be honest, its a terrible card. Serra Angel's vigilance ability must be at least as good as getting an aura back. For 5 mana, you expect more than a chump blocker with an ability you might never use.
I'm gonna join you guys when you say that this card needs more power. I would've been content with this being a 2/4 to be fair. As it stands, you'll mostly want this card for the ability rather than it's body. It would've been preferrable if you'd pick it primarily for the ability and still get a decent body considering that this card costs 5 mana.

Grrr I've been waiting for a good griffin from this block! Maybe the next set...

Pretty sucky outside of EDH. But with the proliferation of enchantment creatures and other cool stuff I think this one will mature like a fine wine. Pretty much a Gravedigger for enchantments, but a far better chump for the extra one mana.

It seems that angel's get the good white flyers, and griffins get what's left over.
