A friend of mine didn't notice it's only one per turn. He thought it was absolutely broken.

Lol, that would translate into "At end of each turn, you gain life equal to the life you lost this turn."
It'd basically be "Kill me i a single turn at once, or don't even bother." Yeah, that doesn't seem overpowered at all :D

However, it's still a very decent card in multiplayer formats (as evidenced by the fact that it saw reprint in two Commander expansion sets so far) since unlike most cards, it triggers each upkeep.

Which means you're getting life back equal to the amount of players each round.
Add that to the fact that you can take some more damage without worrying since you start with 40 life,
and you'll realize this is still quite a powerful gem in Commander.

Particularly if you can make use of the lifegain (with cards like Well of Lost Dreams or Archangel of Thune).

Multiple Droplets trigger together, so technically you can take 1 damage and gain up to 4 life next turn. The life effects are separated, however, so cards like Ajani's Pridemate and Searing Meditation can have multiple triggers as well.

The life does add up and buys you some time. Playing with and against this in the mirrodin block, this card shouldnt be underestimated.
