@DaLucaray Hero's Downfall isn't a sorcery, and it hits black creatures. The better comparison would be to Murder or Dark Banishing anyways.

-You have to have two targets (Granted, you won't very often not have two threats on the board in EDH)

Yeah, 5 life is a little rough. Still, in lifegain it's not too much, and in EDH you have more life. The destruction of two creatures for the (mana) price of one is pretty significant. I think this card (like many) has found a good home in EDH, where you have life to spend and enough good targets.

Guys... no one has mentioned Ashes to Ashes as a comparison yet?

Spite is an instant and destroys 2 non-black creatures for 5 damage and 3 mana. Ashes is a sorcery and exiles two non-artifact creatures for 5 damage and 3 mana.

The difference is kinda like that between Disenchant and Revoke Existence
