Holy crap- I actually use this card, and I'm delighted to see it in modern border! I have to admit, though, as gorgeous as this art is, I kinda miss the Drew Tucker artwork on this one...

The Drew Tucker is really good but this is just something totally special. It definitely looks like a place Dinosa... lizards would live.

The Drew Tucker artwork completely blows this one away, no offense to Richard Wright. I just prefer Tucker's unique style, especially since it 'feels' more like art--something you'd stand around discussing the merits of, vis-à-vis, shadow and light--and all those other fancy things art scholars must say.
As for the caaaaard, I'm fairly excited to see this reprinted with common rarity. Not that it wasn't already common in Fallen Empires, but for some reason MTGO, where Pauper 'originated', sets the legality for Pauper rarities. And on MTGO, Night Soil was released under the uncommon rarity so it has been until now unable to be played with. Still, I'm not entirely sure what, outside of "just for fun" Saproling, decks will be able to make use of it.

Maybe not the best card, (I prefer Necrogenesis) but I do love the new art a lot and Fallen Empires has a special place in my heart.

Really like the new art; that's awesome. Also; want to exile all creatures the turn you land this for a total of 3 mana? Utopia Mycon.

Personally I prefer the Heather Hudson artwork. I just love that little saproling thing that's emerging from the soil. Still, it's nice to see this in a modern border.

It's so weird that one can exile cards from an opponent's graveyard as part of paying a cost. I don't think they'd ever make a card like this one today.

When this card came out, it was considered to be mediocre. Now with graveyards getting stocked up by a variety of means, it sees a resurgence, even moreso in EDH. 4/5
