Minotaur tribal may be coming back in Theros (the black minotaur zombies make it obvious) so it should be better this time around. This probably will be around in the draft if anyone plays red because this is sadly one of the better common creatures, it is better than the Cyclops and three drop intimidator .

At least the decently funny flavour text is back. And I can't complain with Hill Giant in a core set. It's a basic creature that can be both a blocker and an attacker.
I also guess it'd be too much for a 3/4 or a 4/3 or even a 4/4 for . But then again, they printed that Kalonian Tusker, so I guess they can't just give Red an equal or better creature than Green.

For Canyon Minotaur, I'd give: At end of each turn, if all mountains in play are tapped, untap Canyon Minotaur. If you do, put a +1/+1 counter on it.

I like the flavor text....alot. That being said this card is vanilla as it gets. It isn't a bad card, but I'm certainly not putting it in a deck that doesn't make it any better... If this card had any kind of mechanic it might be useful. Give it first strike. Give it trample. Even a unique mechanic like.... Can't be blocked by humans. OR When Canyon Minotaur attacks. target creature gets -1/-1.
