While drafting, if you are in green you still want to pick this up even if its the only sliver in your deck. At its worst its still a bear. And bears are good, clean, effective limited creatures.

Hmm do I see bant slivers on the horizon for standard play or block constructed? Flying, +1/+1, and double strike????????

Strictly better than muscle sliver in 1v1 (im going to assume the opponent might play slivers cos who wouldnt?). Not better if you're on some sort of sliver team in multiplayer. And if that's so, then god have mercy on our souls.

This sort of thing is the reason that people hate slivers. Now, I'm never the type to complain about good commons (pauper ftw), but the fact that this IS common skews sealed so hard. I like how ridiculous Slivers can get. They're fun. I don't want to default to them in Sealed just because more than two of these guys in your packs means Slivers is the best deck you can build.
You might have been really stoked on blue fliers or BW enchantment control as possible limited archetypes, but enough Slivers just means that you play Slivers if you want to play your best deck.

MtG's Slivers occationally felt a bit like Pokémon's Dragons to me. It's like they were super effective against each other, since all their boosts would also apply to the hostile Slivers.
Muscle Sliver for example would be the most obvious choice for a double-edged sword in a mirror match.
Predatory Sliver doesn't give me the same feel, which is why for some reason when i imagine him, he feels weaker to me even though i know he's superior in a singleplayer game.
The old Slivers were like: "The... *flinches* power...! It's... *bends head to the side* too strong!! I can't control it!" The evolved Slivers are like: "I got this. Let's do things in moderation when necessary."

Unfortunately didn't get enough of these to make a viable deck during prerelease. Otherwise, I would've been quoting that damn movie throughout every match. "GET TO THE CHOPPAH!"

Okay, I'm going to rant a bit cuz I need to get it out of my system here. I apologize.
I got into slivers during timespiral and they were very fun. Made me invest in alot of the old slivers just to make my own deck (i still have it to this day). The reason why I went out of my way was because slivers were slivers. They were their own thing. Nothing in magic was made like a sliver. You could play it and buff your opponents slivers. One sliver dropped and the hive mind started working. That had flavor. It was different. It was a risk. Dangerous and fun. Now with these new slivers they have changed what is a sliver... They have nudered the flavor and the only race (besides shapeshifters) that no matter who was playing, would all benifit. When I see these slivers all i can say is that they feel like any other race now. jus like elves and theyre bonuses to ur side of field... jus like any racial buffing. It's not different anymore. they killed the sliver.
competitively these are better.
flavor-wise, they suck.
I'll stick with my old ones and refuse to play these even in my own death.
(i apologize for the typos its late and im tired)

Just a solid two drop Sliver. I would play it in Limited even if I wasn't playing Slivers because by himself he is a bear, which is pretty good in Limited.

This is actually strictly better than Muscle Sliver because it only buffs your slivers, whereas Muscle buffs ALL slivers.
But who isn't going to run 4 of each in a sliver deck?
As for the new sliver artstyles - I don't mind it so much, I just see it as a product of their hyper-evolution. Would be awesome to see slivers in later sets that have obtained intelligence or something.
I want to play with slivers simply because I enjoy all of MTG's cards, but I wish they would think more on the effect of making a third "muscle" sliver. It really was NOT necessary. I really don't like the "you control" clause of the new slivers. I wish they had just reprinted muscle sliver and winged sliver with new art and upped their status to uncommon. Too late now though... *sigh*

How did slivers go from looking like aliens to looking like predators?

With respect to creatures with Evolve (such as Experiment One), Predatory Sliver enters the battlefield as (at least) a 2/2, correct?

@haydady Yes @Lunar Avenger They apparently evolve quickly
At worst, a bear. Stacked or with other slivers....well, its helpful...really helpful

As the guy in our modern playgroup who rubs slivers, it's nice to have him. Muscle Sliver not being available to me and all...
