You know, this is an awesome limited card.
A two-for-one is always something highly wanted in limited, since you're usually going off the draw. And since there's always going to be a guildgate in each pack instead of the basic land (or so I heard, I might be wrong), getting two by turn 4 is by no means difficult.

I read somewhere that the amount of pure lifegain needed to make a card worth a slot was 15. This'll get you halfway there. With a creature.

This card kicks ass in Limited; it even outclasses Centaur Healer. A lack of constructed playability hurts it though. 3/5

In block constructed, this is a four-of in every Maze's End deck, making it the only constructed playable Gatekeeper.
