I expected better stats for a mono green creature. It's not even a grizzly bear and it still costs more.

@RAV0004
Its base stats are this way so that you can start evolving it sooner and more easily.

This isn't quite bad! Sure not impressive, but for some casual players this might be quite preferable than other evolve creatures just because of the trample ability.
3/5 for me.

Reminiscent of Shambleshark, I like this guy for his "sharkness" and for the fact that he combines the growth of Evolve with the pseudo-evasion of trample.

Does anyone remember a relatively old PC game named Impossible Creatures? It was a strategy game in which you had to combine different creatures (like, say, a Hippo and a Chameleon) and send the ramming into the enemy's ones.
Because the Simic creatures from RTR block look like they came straight from that game.

Love the concept-art. Really cool idea for a creature.
Sure it's not even a 2/2 but who cares when it can easily evolve and utilize Trample. I'd say it's well-balanced for what it is.

It's not great, but I like it for being a hammerhead shark

As part of my ongoing mission:

The merfolk were new to the surface world but the shattered remnants of the Simic understood the power of brawn all too well.

Really wish it had been 2/3 so it could evolve the guys you'd already played by turn 3. Having a low toughness means it wont be able to live through multiple attacks.

I've waited forever to finally see the creature depicted in Reprisal as an actual card.

@fishball: And given how silly evolve can get, this guy can actually become a valid target pretty easily.
