No. "becomes a creature" does not equal "enters the battlefield."

EDIT: Really guys? My legitimate question deserves a .5 star rating? That's just dickish

A nice safe place to move all your +1/+1 counters from Simic Fluxmage and Bioshift.

Instantaneous board wipes are about the only thing that can take care of this dude. Nice target for counters or other power ups.

I often forget that these keyrunes even tap for mana.

Some Simic decks need the ramp but this guy has little other synergy.

Try Naturalize / Smelt in response to its activation.

To think back when everything was UWx control, I thought this card would be the ultimate threat that eventually closes out the mirror. Virtually unkillable (prior to release of Dragon's Maze), it would swing in turn after turn in a fully controlled board.

And look at how wrong I was - Aetherling.

@ThisisSakon: You shouldn't have to ask that question. This is like asking "Does Wrath of God destroy this when it's a creature?" It's a dumb question.

With the current CMC of mana-dorks in standard at 2, I think in a simic deck it's worth considering dropping one or two dorks and replacing them with one or two of these. Not easy to get rid of.
